Fundraising for Survival: Paxton House
How Paxton House, a historic Borderlands property that lost 90% of its income in lockdown, raised over £10,000 through an emergency digital campaign to ensure its survival.
Paxton House is a historic Borderlands property that depends entirely on visitor revenue. When the first national lockdown arrived in March 2020, the organisation lost approximately 90% of its income overnight.
The Emergency Campaign
With their income gone and their future uncertain, Paxton House launched an emergency fundraising campaign with a target of £20,000 by June 20th - the amount needed to enable reopening.
The campaign was promoted through:
- Social media channels
- Direct email outreach to previous visitors and supporters
Donors from both the UK and internationally responded, many leaving messages on the DONATE™ campaign page expressing their appreciation for the historic house and their hope for its future.
An Ongoing Legacy
Although the formal campaign concluded in June 2020, the response transformed how Paxton House raises money. The property continues to receive both regular monthly and one-off donations via their campaign page - a lasting digital fundraising channel that didn't exist before the crisis.
The Result
Amount raised: £10,350
"We've been blown away by the generosity of our friends and visitors. DONATE™ has opened up new..."
