Text Raffle Changes
An update on changes to the DONATE platform's text raffle setup process, covering new mandatory lottery licence requirements and automated keyword allocation.
Earlier this year, the text raffle setup process received further automation enhancements. DONATE™ must comply with regulations and guidelines protecting both organisers and participants. Several key changes have been implemented.
Lottery licence information is now mandatory for raffles. Participants can access licence details through a link in their text raffle reply message following each entry. The system automatically generates this reply message and organisations cannot modify it.
The keyword allocation process has been simplified. Keywords are now assigned automatically but can be changed during setup with immediate confirmation. If a selected keyword is unavailable, users receive alternative options, allowing raffles to launch without waiting for email confirmations.
One significant change restricts fundraising options: it is no longer possible to use the £1 donation channel for text raffles. Standard donation levels of £3, £5, and £10 remain available, along with £20 and £30 chargeable channels.
Organisations can access their portal to establish text raffles or digital campaigns. Additional guidance is available through the comprehensive text raffle setup guide for users unfamiliar with the new system.
