12 Giving Days of Christmas
Twelve case studies of charitable organisations demonstrating successful digital fundraising through the DONATE platform during the Christmas season.
In the spirit of the twelve days of Christmas, we're celebrating twelve of our DONATE™ partners who have embraced digital fundraising to support their causes.
1. Redditch Round Table
Community service organisations have successfully fundraised through contactless collections. Redditch Round Table's Christmas Santa Sleigh Run raised £3,057 through a combination of QR codes, web donations, and text donations. Donor messages left on the platform provided additional motivation and appreciation for volunteers.
2. Canterbury Food Bank CIC
Food banks rely on year-round fundraising, particularly during winter months. Canterbury Food Bank CIC has raised nearly £42,000 through DONATE™. Notably, 58% of donors opted to add Gift Aid, which the platform processes automatically to ensure the organisation receives the full additional amount.
3. St Andrews Church, Enfield
Religious organisations adapted to pandemic restrictions by launching digital offertory collections. St Andrews Church in Enfield now streams sixteen weekly services online, reaching an additional 200 viewers beyond their physical in-person capacity. The church has raised over £5,000 through text donations made during services.
4. Tête À Tête
This arts charity has operated hybrid events since 2008 and now reaches an international viewership of over 1 million. Tête À Tête runs over 20 campaigns during their festival season, making regular use of DONATE's free campaign set-up. Lower priced ticket holders often donate most generously when artists ask for donations during shows.
5. Mildmay Hospital
This healthcare charity manages multiple donation streams for their Christmas appeal, which provides gift hampers to patients who have recently been discharged, bringing festive cheer to those who need it most.
6. Penhaligon's Friends
This children's charity supports bereaved families and ran a 2021 auction featuring over 45 lots to raise vital funds for their work.
7. Sutton Night Watch Homeless
This homelessness support organisation raised £950 through a creative campaign selling personalised wooden stars, connecting donors directly with a tangible symbol of their support.
8. Aberdeen Football Club Community Trust
This sports community organisation deploys DONATE™ contactless giving devices at venue entry points, enabling match-day supporters to make quick, cashless donations as they arrive.
9. Big C Cancer Charity
This health charity ran three DONATE™ text raffles, raising £2,720 in spring 2021, demonstrating the effectiveness of the text raffle format for health sector organisations.
10. The Challenge Fund
This international aid organisation raised funds for a hospice in Nepal through a crowdfunding campaign using the keyword CHEERS, with donations ranging from £5 to £1,000.
11. St Giles Animal Rescue
This animal welfare charity has achieved remarkable donor retention, with over 86% of regular donors continuing their support after one year - a testament to the strength of their donor relationships and the ease of the DONATE™ regular giving platform.
12. Conservators of Ashdown Forest
This environmental conservation organisation raised over £10,000, with 20% of donations coming through QR code transactions, reflecting the growing adoption of contactless and QR-based giving among visitors to natural spaces.
