6. How do we apply our branding?
We provide a branding frame template showing mandatory content (DONATE™ logo and our T&Cs). Other formats are available on Google Drive. Include the mandatory content; design the rest as you wish.
Branding frames are ordered via the order form. Standard display frame: 125mm × 200mm.
7. Can I rent or buy the unit?
The Static unit is available for purchase only. If you need a rentable option, see tap+DONATE™ Rent.
8. What are the minimum and maximum donation amounts?
Minimum £1, maximum £30 per contactless tap. For higher amounts, the Rent unit supports contactless to £100 plus chip+PIN above.
9. How are donation levels set?
You can specify up to three preset donation levels between £1 and £30. We configure these during activation. Changes take effect with 48 hours' weekday notice — email hello@nationalfundingscheme.org. A £5 fee applies per change.
Donors select their chosen amount on the unit before tapping.
10. Does the unit work on Wi-Fi or 3G/4G?
The unit uses an integrated SIM for 3G/4G connectivity. It does not connect to local Wi-Fi.
11. Can donations be taken outside data range?
Yes. The Static unit stores transactions locally and authorises them automatically when it next has a signal. The reporting portal only shows completed transactions, so pending donations appear once they're authorised.
12. Can donations be Gift Aided?
No. Contactless donations do not capture personal data, so Gift Aid cannot be applied. If Gift Aid matters to you, the Rent unit offers it via QR code.
13. How are funds transferred to our charity?
Funds are received by National Funding Scheme (a registered charity) and passed across — less the 2.95% charity fee — under our Affiliation Agreement. See the charities and non-charities terms.
14. What do we need to provide?
A standard mains power source. Plug it in and the unit starts taking donations.
15. What's included with the unit?
- Your contactless Static unit
- 24/7 access to your own reporting portal
- Working-hours support
- Immediate connectivity to collect payments
- Marketing template for branding artwork (if required)
16. What is the returns policy?
The unit can be returned at your cost for a full refund within 30 days. The delivery charge and the annual SIM contract cost are non-refundable.
A faulty unit can be returned for a free replacement within 90 days. Use a signed-for postal service; postage costs are borne by the customer.
17. Can donation refunds be offered?
No. Under our Affiliation Agreement, National Funding Scheme does not offer refunds on donations.
18. Can the device be secured to a table?
Yes — two screw holes are provided in the bottom of the unit.
