Inaugural Auction for the Tiggy Hancock Trust

How the newly founded Tiggy Hancock Trust raised £59,000 in their first ever auction, supporting young equestrians' mental health in memory of 15-year-old show-jumper Tiggy Hancock.

The Tiggy Hancock Trust was established following the death of 15-year-old show-jumper Tiggy Hancock in June 2021. The trust provides mental health support, training, and education to young equestrians. On December 10th, 2021, Cheltenham Racecourse turned yellow in Tiggy's honour.

The Auction

The silent auction featured 54 freely-donated lots, drawing extraordinary levels of engagement from the Irish and British racing communities. Some individual lots received forty bids, a remarkable testament to the goodwill surrounding Tiggy's memory.

The DONATE™ platform provided:

  • Individual bid increment reserves per lot
  • Bidding via both text and web
  • International bidding across Ireland and the UK
  • Enhanced imagery and content presentation for each lot

The Challenge

As a brand new organisation, the Trust had no prior experience of running a fundraising auction. They needed a partner with the technology and the support to ensure they raised the maximum amount possible from their community.

The Result

Amount raised: £59,000.00

"We were new to organising a fundraising auction and wanted to find a partner...whose technology would ensure that we would raise the maximum amount from our supportive community. The DONATE™ team was fantastic."

  • Frank Hancock, Tiggy's father and founder of the Trust
