Team Challenges FAQs
How much does team challenge fundraising cost? ＋
There are no setup fees and no monthly subscription. You only pay when you raise money: sponsorship donations are processed at our standard platform rates with Gift Aid managed for you. See the pricing page for the full rate card.
Can we charge an entry fee to join a team? ＋
Yes. Set a flat joining fee or create named tiers with their own prices, capped places and on-sale windows. Fees are paid by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay at sign-up, and are refunded automatically if you decline a request to join. Ideal for marathon places, treks and paid events.
Can we claim Gift Aid on entry fees? ＋
Usually not. Where a fee buys a place or a benefit, HMRC's rules mean it doesn't qualify as a donation, so we recommend leaving Gift Aid off the fee itself. Sponsorship donations made to members' pages are a different matter: DONATE collects declarations and manages the claim automatically, adding up to 25% to eligible gifts.
Can supporters set up their own challenges? ＋
If you want them to. Each campaign has a suggestions toggle. Switch it on and anyone can propose a challenge, which arrives in your portal for approval before anything is published. Switch it off and only your organisation can create challenges.
Do team members need access to our portal? ＋
No. Members manage their own page from their supporter account, and you can promote trusted members to team admins who can add and invite members and see totals, all without access to your organisation's portal, which stays yours alone.
